Timeline

Remember, vaccine quantities are extremely limited during the Phase 1 round.

  • Phase 1A Currently Underway

    Phase 1A is currently underway. The following are eligible for vaccination at this phase:

    • Health care works and personnel who are routinely involved with the care of COVID-19 patients.
    • Residents and staff at nursing homes.
    • Residents and staff at assisted living facilities.
    • Patients and staff at state psychiatric hospitals.
    • People with developmental disabilities and those with mental health disorders, including substance use disorders, who live in group homes, residential facilities, or centers and staff at those locations.
    • Residents and staff at Ohio veterans homes.
    • EMS responders.

  • Phase 1B January 18th

    Phase 1B starts the week of January 18th. Ohioans 80 years or older are eligible for their COVID-19 vaccine.

  • Phase 1B January 25th

    Beginning the week of January 25th, Ohioans with severe health conditions (to be defined soon) and Ohioans 75 and older are eligible for their COVID-19 vaccine.

  • Phase 1B February 1st

    Beginning the week of February 1st, Ohioans that work in schools ages K-12 and Ohioans 70 and older are eligible for their COVID-19 vaccine.

  • Phase 1B February 8th

    Ohioans 65 and older are eligible for their COVID-19 vaccine.

  • Phase 1B February 15th

    Ohioans born with or who have early childhood conditions that are carried into adulthood, which put them at a higher risk for adverse outcomes due to COVID-19 are eligible for their COVID-19 vaccine.

    • Ohioans with one of the above qualifying medical conditions may choose to receive the vaccine at the provider of their choice, but will be asked by their vaccine provider to verify that they are eligible at time of vaccination.
  • Phase 1C March 4th

    Ohioans who have additional medical conditions that may increase their risk of severe illness and death from COVID-19, including Type 1 Diabetes, pregnancy, bone marrow transplant recipients, and individuals with ALS. Specific occupation groups have also been granted access for registration including child care services, funeral services, firefighters, law enforcement and corrections officers.

  • Phase 2A March 4th

    Ohioans 60 and older are eligible for their COVID-19 vaccine.

  • Phase 1D March 11th

    Ohioans who have the following medical conditions, Type 2 Diabetes and end-stage renal disease, under the age of 50 are eligible for their COVID-19 vaccine.

  • Phase 2B March 11th

    Ohioans 50 and older are eligible for their COVID-19 vaccine.

  • Phase 1E March 19th

    Ohioans with cancer, chronic kidney disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, heart disease, and obesity.

  • Phase 2C March 19th

    Ohioans 40 and older are eligible for their COVID-19 vaccine.

  • Phase 2D March 29th

    Ohioans 16 and older are eligible for their COVID-19 vaccine.
